Throughout the history of the R. J. Noble Company, there had been one employee who is known as "The Noble Company Man" -- Jim Stice. Jim began at R.J.Noble as a laborer in 1953. and moved up to superintendent and manager of R. J. Noble Company plants.
Robert Noble asked Jim if wanted to learn the business; the answer was an adamant "yes." Noble sent Stice to night school in Santa Ana for his formal education. He learned from the ground up how to operate the rock plant and asphalt plant. He moved up to superintendent and manager of the entire yard, and then on to general superintendent for both the Orange and Corona plants.
He also started the recycling plant, which manufactures recrush.
Jim retired after 47 years and lives with his wife, Patricia, in Southern California.
